Screen Chambers
〉, (2026)

Screen Chambers focuses on the details that construct the realism of an image. The details generated through the process of reconstructing an image produce forms and textures that did not exist in the original, creating new visual structures within the image itself. These details no longer function as information for representing an object; instead, they operate as the visual conditions that make an image appear real.

The images, generated by enlarging fragments of photographs, no longer depict familiar subjects. Their ambiguous structures—resembling cells, minerals, or plant tissues—shift attention away from what is being seen toward how we look at and perceive images. Rather than reproducing an image, the work reveals the mechanisms through which images are perceived.

The image does not exist as a single, complete surface. Reflective panels and layered materials resist converging into a fixed viewpoint through their transparency, instead forming ever-changing relationships in response to the viewer's position and movement. The image is experienced not as a flat plane but as a visual space with depth, into which the surrounding environment and reflected landscape continuously enter.

Ultimately, this work does not present a single image. Instead, it attempts to reveal the structure of the gaze through which images are perceived.
